Job Title: Autism Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Autism Specialist to join our team at Majestic Minds Mental Health & Autism Services.

Job Summary:

The Autism Specialist will work with clients with autism to assess their cognitive, social, and emotional barriers, and develop individualized education and intervention plans to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess clients' cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals
  • Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives
  • Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs
  • Provide job training and support
  • Assist students to develop life skills
  • Instruct students in reading and writing braille, lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language
  • Instruct in the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices, and wheelchairs
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Permanent position
  • 32 hours per week
  • English language
