Position Title: Theatre Program Student Support Specialist

Location: New Westminster Campus

Salary Range: $17.88/hour

Position Type: Student Assistant

Role Overview: The Theatre Program Student Support Specialist is responsible for providing essential actor-related services across various departments within the college.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with faculty and the Marketing & Communications Office to enhance outreach initiatives for theatre productions.
  • Engage with faculty to brainstorm innovative strategies for audience engagement.
  • Assist in the execution of productions at Douglas College while staying informed about upcoming events.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong communication skills and a personable demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Reliability and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Enrollment in the Theatre Program, Stagecraft, or Print Futures Programs, or possess exceptional computer, bibliography, and library research skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

Domestic students must meet one of the following:

  • Enrolled in a minimum of one (3 credit) course at Douglas College throughout the work term.
  • Previously enrolled in a minimum of one (3 credit) course at Douglas College in the term immediately preceding the work term and intend to enroll in the following term.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of two (3 credit) courses at another accredited public post-secondary institution in B.C. throughout the work term.

International students must meet one of the following:

  • Enrolled in full-time studies at Douglas College throughout the academic year.
  • International students at another accredited public post-secondary institution in B.C. with a valid Study Permit allowing employment under specific conditions.
