Position Overview
The Theatre and Music Student Support Assistant will play a vital role in the organization and execution of various performing arts events. This position involves assisting with equipment setup, backstage support during performances, and front-of-house operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in arranging seating and equipment for rehearsals and events.
- Ensure adherence to proper storage protocols for all equipment.
- Support the setup and dismantling of events hosted by the department.
- Provide assistance to visiting artists and performers.
- Communicate effectively with technical staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Help with ticket sales and manage audience inquiries.
- Guide audience members to their seats and provide accessibility assistance as needed.
- Deliver excellent customer service to enhance the audience experience.
Qualifications
Current enrollment in a program related to Music, Theatre, Stagecraft, or Music Technology is preferred. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria based on their student status:
- Domestic Students: Must be enrolled in a minimum of one (3 credit) course at Douglas College or another accredited institution in B.C.
- International Students: Must be enrolled full-time at Douglas College or another accredited institution in B.C. with a valid Study Permit.
