This position is a key member of our team at Retirement Concepts, playing a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating activity programs to meet the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and lead engaging recreation programs, including outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, and more.
- Assist residents with mobility and provide support during recreational activities as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' behavior or well-being to supervisors and nursing staff.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for recreational equipment and supplies, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, meetings, and educational in-services to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist with the orientation of new residents and provide guidance and support to volunteers.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Perform other duties as required to support the success of our team.
- Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program.
- Experience in a senior-focused recreation department is an asset.
- Food Safe Course or equivalent certification is required.
- Valid Class 4 (Unrestricted) BC Driver's License is necessary.
- Successful applicants must pass a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
