University of Toronto is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Sessional Lecturer for the course eMHI2004H: Human Factors & System Design in Healthcare.
About the Course
This course is designed to address the socio-technical challenges of introducing information and communication technology into healthcare settings. Students will learn about the fundamental concepts of human factors and the principles and strategies associated with organizational change management.
Course Objectives
- Understand the adoption of ICTs in complex socio-technical environments.
- Apply human factors principles to improve human performance and behavior.
- Design and implement human-centered solutions for healthcare systems.
- Analyze clinical and departmental workflow to improve efficiency.
- Develop effective strategies for introducing clinical information systems.
- Assess cultural readiness within organizations for change.
- Integrate ICTs into clinical practice settings.
- Develop structures to support organizational change.
- Engage end-users to secure successful implementation of clinical information systems.
Qualifications
- PhD or Masters level education with recent experience in clinical and health informatics.
- Experience with ICT adoption, implementation, and evaluation.
- Robust understanding of clinical/clinician work processes.
- Past teaching experience related to health informatics.
- Comfortable with electronic teaching tools.
Responsibilities
