Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Discipline Lead to join our skilled Electrical team in the Vancouver office. This individual will lead the Electrical Buildings and Facilities Group in Vancouver, overseeing the design process from feasibility through completion, and liaising directly with clients on major projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design process from feasibility through completion and collaborate with clients on major projects.
  • Perform detailed electrical design work and review the work of junior designers, directing the CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables prior to submission to clients.
  • Prepare written reports based on building electrical assessments and audits.
  • Develop written tender documents and technical specifications, evaluating products and contractor proposals to make award recommendations to clients.
  • Work with management to develop business strategies related to new clients and potential growth areas in electrical engineering.
  • Assist with proposal preparation and contacting new clients to grow business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • P.Eng. registration in Canada.
  • 15 or more years of experience in the Consulting Engineering Industry.
  • Expert proficiency in Canadian building codes and design standards.
  • Experience in areas such as building upgrades/renovations, new building design, data center design, energy audits, condition assessments, LEED certified projects, telecommunication projects, and lighting design.
  • Business acumen, focused on developing client relationships, bringing in new projects, and understanding and meeting all client needs.
  • Mentorship ability and interest in developing technical capabilities of junior staff.
