Who are we seeking?

Our Engineering Design Organization is in search of a Senior Electrical Engineer and Team Lead to contribute to our initiatives across various sectors.

We value curiosity and innovative thinking to drive community transformation.

In this role, you will engage in a variety of projects that require a collaborative approach, working alongside project directors, managers, and other engineers across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project leads and managers to deliver comprehensive solutions across sectors such as Water, Transportation, Environmental, and Energy.
  • Oversee the electrical design team in Western Canada, guiding engineers and designers in their tasks.
  • Partner with the Business Group Leader to establish effective processes and resource management to meet client needs.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets, ensuring quality deliverables.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation for a range of projects, including utility interconnections, substation designs, and power distribution systems.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of electrical design calculations and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support project execution through technical reviews, site inspections, and coordination with construction teams.
  • Lead client meetings to present design options and address project challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • 10-15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Proven expertise in designing MV and LV electrical systems, including substations and power distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian electrical codes and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships within project teams and the organization.
  • Experience in a Design Build environment is advantageous.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.
