Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Butcher - Wholesale Specialist to join our team at Toronto Halal Meat Incorporation. As a key member of our meat processing and packing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Cut and Trim Meats: Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, and trim and prepare standard cuts of meat.
  • Package and Label Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats, and label them accurately for distribution.
  • Remove Bones and Weigh Meats: Remove bones from meat, and weigh meats for sale to ensure accuracy.
  • Cut Poultry and Price Meat Products: Cut poultry into parts, and price meat products accurately for sale.
  • Supervise and Train Team Members: Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers, and train them on new procedures and techniques.
  • Grind Meats and Prepare Special Orders: Grind meats, and prepare special orders for customers.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a meat processing and packing environment.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with odours, and in a cold/refrigerated setting.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, and handle heavy loads.
