Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with project management experience to join our team at Reinbold Engineering Group. As a Mechanical Engineer Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems for various new and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain current business and client relationships
  • Coordinate and manage Mechanical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity from schematic design through construction
  • Coordinate mechanical systems and design with other disciplines
  • Analyze client design proposals and specifications to determine cost-effective solutions
  • Lead the project team and provide guidance to clients, technical staff, and subconsultants to ensure projects are technically sound and completed successfully
  • Maintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilization
  • Determine project design and drafting hours required to complete a project and communicate the resources required to meet the project deadlines
  • Provide internal quality and cost control during the design and construction process
  • Manage project activities throughout the lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation, and other factors necessary for success
  • Represent our firm by attending design and construction meetings with clients and contractors
  • Prepare and review specification and concept reports
  • Identify and address the need for additional services and fees in a timely fashion
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience as a Professional Engineer: P. Eng. in the jurisdiction in which they are working
  • Detailed understanding of all building systems, including architectural, structural, civil, electrical, and fire, and how they impact and are impacted by the mechanical systems
  • Strong knowledge of current codes and standards, such as the applicable plumbing and building codes
  • Excellent written skills and understanding of software programs (Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, etc.)
  • Understanding of financials as they apply to projects: Work backlog, Work in progress (WIP), project costs vs budgets
  • Ability to schedule, mentor, and manage project teams of 1 to 3 people on 2 or more concurrent projects depending on size and complexity
