Position Overview
This role is a 12-month contract opportunity with potential for extension. The Project Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the resolution of construction deficiencies efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Recognize the significance of exceptional customer service.
- Assist in the transition process for Dealers, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and accountability.
- Effectively negotiate solutions to building-related challenges while prioritizing the Corporation's interests.
- Collect, assess, and validate vendor proposals for repair projects, including scope, cost, and timeline; prepare a summary for tracking expenses and communicating with Dealers.
- Manage Dealer leasehold approval requests, providing necessary documentation and tracking requests throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure completeness and proper documentation of changeover and leasehold processes.
- Foster productive relationships with internal and external parties to ensure timely project execution.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in a relevant field such as building science or technology preferred.
- Experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or building asset management within a retail or commercial context.
- Familiarity with municipal planning processes.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven capability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication, presentation, and execution skills.
- Attention to detail and strong personal organization.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in property management, asset management, or project management is advantageous.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills are beneficial.
- Experience in commercial real estate, particularly with large retailers, developers, architectural firms, or construction companies is a plus.
