About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at William Reid, Nancy Reid. As a key member of our agricultural operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock, and maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care and Welfare
    • Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses
    • Handling animals with care and attention to detail
    • Monitor the calving process and take necessary actions to ensure the health and well-being of the animals
    • Monitor animal health and take prompt action to address any issues that may arise
    • Treat livestock health issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Supervision and Leadership
    • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
  • Machinery and Equipment
    • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • General Farm Duties
    • Perform general farm duties as required, including milking cows and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the farm
    Requirements
    • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
    • Strong knowledge of animal care and welfare practices
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Working Conditions
    • Fast-paced environment with a focus on animal care and welfare
    • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
    • Physical demands of the role include standing for long periods, lifting and carrying heavy objects, and working in a fast-paced environment
    Language and Work Term
    • English is the primary language of communication
    • Permanent full-time position
    • 40 hours per week
