The School District #41 (Burnaby) is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to staff end-users, create documentation and training materials, and deliver end-user training.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and update user accounts and network administrative systems.
- Create, update, and close work order tickets; prioritize calls to other technicians as required.
- Initiate and maintain the user database.
- Provide leadership and technical training to staff as required.
- Coordinate the posting of service notifications and information to district staff as required.
- Graduation from a recognized university or 2-year technical program, including or supplemented by appropriate certifications, plus a minimum of four years related experience.
- Extensive knowledge of computer operation and software applications related to work performed.
- Thorough knowledge of desktop class hardware types and configuration.
- Thorough knowledge of network operations, network operating systems, and applicable network software applications.
- Valid BC Driver's License and vehicle for transportation between sites.
This is a regular position working 40 hours/week. The compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate.
