As a Contracts Manager for our Eastern Districts, you will play a crucial role in our operations:

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior project team members to identify potential risks and opportunities, formulating proactive strategies to manage them effectively.
  • Oversee the administration of intricate contracts, including alternative finance and procurement projects, ensuring compliance with PCL policies and timely execution.
  • Assist project teams in resolving or escalating claims and disputes as necessary.
  • Review and negotiate claims from owners, consultants, and subcontractors, providing valuable insights.
  • Coordinate with the legal and risk management departments, as well as executive district leadership, to manage claims, aiming to minimize exposure and maximize recovery.
Essential Qualifications
  • Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction with various contract delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated success in contract administration and claim resolution, including drafting and negotiating contract language to mitigate risks.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and manage potential risks in complex construction projects.
  • Experience with a variety of project types, delivery methods, and construction timelines.
  • Proven adaptability and effectiveness in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving capabilities, and professional judgment.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
