The Communications and Media Relations team partners with FNHA program areas, leadership, regional teams, and health partners to assist First Nations in BC in achieving their health and wellness objectives while improving access to culturally safe, high-quality health services for all First Nations individuals in BC. The team offers strategic communication, publishing, graphic design services, and develops content across various channels to ensure clear, timely, and appropriate messaging for both internal and external audiences.

Position Overview
In the role of Senior Communications Officer, you will play a vital role within the FNHA Communications team, upholding the organization's vision and mandate. Reporting to the Manager of Communications Services, you will spearhead the creation and execution of proactive communication strategies, campaigns, and materials for a variety of FNHA health and wellness initiatives, including primary care, mental health and wellness, harm reduction, health promotion, and emergency management.
You will be responsible for developing, planning, and delivering proactive communications under the general guidance of the Manager, which includes crafting key messages and communication materials such as publications, articles, advertisements, videos, podcasts, web content, and other collateral as necessary. You will lead the implementation of communication and campaign strategies in collaboration with other communications team members, internal and external stakeholders, and senior executives. Through discussions with stakeholders, you will ensure a comprehensive understanding and consideration of First Nations perspectives and cultures, aligning with FNHA values and directives.

Candidate Profile
To excel in this position, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, or Social Sciences, along with over 5 years of progressive experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. You should have recent, relevant, and substantial experience in communications and/or social marketing. Experience in overseeing significant projects and timelines, along with strong writing and editing skills for web and social media, is essential. Additionally, experience in managing vendor relationships is beneficial. Familiarity with First Nations communities or working within a First Nations-led organization, as well as experience in healthcare or non-profit sectors, will be considered assets.

The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum annual compensation based on full-time equivalent hours. Typically, incumbents are hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is designated for incumbents who are industry experts with exceptional experience and competencies required to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
