Position Overview

The Product Development Specialist plays a crucial role in collaborating with various teams to conceptualize, design, and introduce new products that align with the dynamic needs of our clientele. This position oversees the entire development lifecycle from initial concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform market analysis and collect customer insights to discover new product possibilities and enhancements for current offerings;
  2. Work in partnership with Sales, Engineering, and other departments to develop innovative and practical product designs;
  3. Oversee the product development journey from concept to production for new greenhouse structures and associated systems;
  4. Create comprehensive project plans that include timelines, budgets, and resource management to guarantee successful product launches;
  5. Generate and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications and installation guides;
  6. Ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability and construction efficiency;
  7. Supervise prototype creation, testing, and assessment to confirm that products meet established quality and performance criteria;
  8. Coordinate with the Production team to facilitate a smooth transition from design to manufacturing;
  9. Offer technical assistance and training to Sales teams to support effective product launches;
  10. Provide technical guidance to installers during the construction phase of new greenhouse designs;
  11. Continuously explore avenues for enhancing product performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Development, or a related discipline;
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in product development, ideally within the agricultural or construction sectors;
  3. A solid understanding of greenhouse structures, materials, and manufacturing methodologies;
  4. Experience with a stage-gate model for product development;
  5. Awareness of sustainability practices and trends within the agricultural field is advantageous.

  3. Exceptional communication capabilities;
  4. Effective teamwork and collaboration skills to work harmoniously with various departments, clients, and key stakeholders;
  5. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities while consistently meeting deliverables;
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills;
  7. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  8. Intermediate proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), structural analysis tools, and other design applications.
