Position Summary

The Product Development Specialist plays a crucial role in collaborating with various teams to conceptualize, design, and introduce new products that align with the changing demands of our clientele. This position oversees the entire development cycle from initial idea to final production.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform market analysis and collect customer insights to discover new product possibilities and enhancements for current offerings;
  2. Work in conjunction with Sales, Engineering, and other departments to devise innovative and practical product solutions;
  3. Oversee the product development lifecycle for new greenhouse structures and associated systems;
  4. Create comprehensive project plans that outline timelines, budgets, and resource distribution to guarantee successful product rollouts;
  5. Generate and update technical documentation, including design specifications and installation guides;
  6. Ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability and construction efficiency;
  7. Supervise the development, testing, and assessment of prototypes to confirm that products meet quality and performance benchmarks;
  8. Coordinate with the Production team to facilitate a smooth transition from design to manufacturing;
  9. Offer technical assistance and training to Sales teams to support effective product launches;
  10. Provide technical guidance to installers during the construction phase of new greenhouse designs;
  11. Continuously explore avenues for enhancing product performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Development, or a related discipline;
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in product development, ideally within the agricultural or construction sectors;
  3. Solid understanding of greenhouse structures, materials, and manufacturing techniques;
  4. Experience with a stage-gate model for product development;
  5. Awareness of sustainability practices and trends in the agricultural field is advantageous.

  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities;
  4. Proficient in teamwork and collaboration to work effectively with various departments, clients, and stakeholders;
  5. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities while consistently delivering results;
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills;
  7. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  8. Intermediate proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), structural analysis tools, and other design applications.
