**Job Summary**

The Registration Clerk will play a vital role in the operations of Seven Oaks General Hospital, ensuring seamless patient registration and admission processes. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Process patient registrations and admissions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Verify patient information and ensure accuracy in medical records.
  • Manage and maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient use of resources.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Stay up-to-date with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and hospital operations.

**Requirements:**

  • One-year direct receptionist experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with various filing systems and medical terminology.
  • Grade 12 education and Medical Terminology Certificate.
  • Successful completion of a recognized program for Medical Administrative Assistant/Health Care Access Services, Unit Clerk, or the first year of a recognized Health Information Management Professional.
  • Knowledge of Windows, e-mail, and database applications.
  • Ability to operate equipment, including Fax Machine, printers, embosser, imprinter, etc.
  • Keyboarding speed – minimum 40 wpm.
  • Familiarity with statistics and general accounting.
  • Accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate flexibility and independence in planning work.
  • Ability to keep current with technology and problem-solve equipment breakdowns.
