Overview
The Medical Director, HSC Adult Emergency Department, is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of quality care in the Adult Emergency Department at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC). The successful candidate will collaborate with the Provincial Specialty Lead, Emergency Medicine, Shared Health Manitoba, and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) Emergency Program to coordinate the city-wide delivery of Emergency Department care in Winnipeg.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the medical team in the Adult Emergency Department to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the Provincial Specialty Lead, Emergency Medicine, Shared Health Manitoba, to plan and coordinate province-wide Emergency Department care.
- Work with the WRHA Emergency Program to coordinate the city-wide delivery of Emergency Department care in Winnipeg.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of care.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Adult Emergency Department and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized university
- Licensed with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM)
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or Certificant of College of Family Physicians of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine)
- Eligible for a medical staff appointment with Shared Health
