Medical Director

Manitoba Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to lead the Adult Emergency Department at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of quality care, collaborating with provincial and regional stakeholders, and promoting continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the medical team in the Adult Emergency Department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient department operations.
- Collaborate with the Provincial Specialty Lead, Emergency Medicine, Shared Health Manitoba, to plan and coordinate province-wide Emergency Department care.
- Work with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) Emergency Program to coordinate city-wide delivery of Emergency Department care in Winnipeg.
- Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and quality assurance initiatives to improve patient outcomes and department performance.
- Communicate effectively with staff, stakeholders, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and coordination.
- Medical degree from a recognized university.
- Licensed with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM).
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or Certificant of College of Family Physicians of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine).
- Eligible for a medical staff appointment with Shared Health.
