The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our Electrical & Instrumentation department at Irving Paper in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement automation systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Program and troubleshoot control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation systems with existing infrastructure.
  • Perform commissioning and testing of automation systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including technical specifications and user manuals.
Requirements:
  • Strong background in automation systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with control systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMI software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
