Role Overview
The Financial Administration Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering managerial and administrative support for the Faculty of Applied Sciences' operational budget. This position also oversees financial administration for research grants in collaboration with the supervisor. The Coordinator offers guidance on budgetary policies and supports the finance management team in the daily operations of the operating budget, alongside the financial management of research, endowment, and specific purpose funds. This role provides essential advice and information regarding financial and research administration, ensuring compliance with financial requirements and reporting. The Coordinator acts as a resource for faculty researchers and grant holders, assisting with payroll documentation and timesheet management.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field, be working towards an accounting designation, and have four years of relevant experience in financial administration, fund accounting, or research accounting. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of financial administration and accounting processes.
- Strong understanding of research concepts, principles, regulations, and procedures.
- Proficient in grant application preparation and related processes.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent research, technical writing, proofreading, and editing abilities.
