Job Summary:

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met, and maintaining a clean and safe food service environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals to residents in our community, ensuring all special dietary needs are met.
  • Follow specially prepared Sunrise menus and production sheets to maintain the highest possible quality and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping, food safety, and risk management requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe food service environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and prepare meals, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
  • Develop and implement menu plans that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Supervise and train culinary staff, ensuring they are equipped to provide excellent service and maintain high standards of food quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or ability to participate in food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
  • One (1) year job-related experience in food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets.
  • Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED accepted.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, possess written and verbal skills for effective communication, and demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
