Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Culinary Team Member to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and menu documents.
  • Monitor the quality of food supplies and advise the team leader on any issues or concerns.
  • Assume responsibility for departmental operations in the absence of the team leader, including menu changes and requisitioning food and supplies.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
  • Attend in-service meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 minimum education required.
  • Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willingness to obtain Red Seal certification.
  • One year of experience in volume food preparation, catering, and special events preparation.
  • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and Smart Serve certificate.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in large quantity food preparation and cooking in Health, Long Term Care, or Retirement Residence.
  • Red Seal Designation.
