Fiddlehead Technology is a pioneering Data Science firm with a decade of expertise. We are experiencing significant growth to meet the rising demand for Machine Learning and AI solutions from our clients in the consumer-packaged goods sector. Our mission is to assist clients in comprehending and analyzing their data while constructing Machine Learning models that enhance their financial performance.

We are in search of a seasoned software engineer who will be responsible for designing and executing tools that automate and operationalize data collection, transformation, machine learning models, and other analytical processes. You will be tasked with creating and implementing agile methodologies to effectively manage ongoing software initiatives.

Leadership and mentorship capabilities are highly valued, as you will play a crucial role in guiding junior team members and facilitating their development into more advanced positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and recommend automation tools for data and machine learning workflows
  • Design and implement data-centric solutions
  • Develop and promote data governance and software best practices
  • Create and implement service-oriented architectures
  • Design, document, and execute data models
  • Mentor and lead junior team members

Essential Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in software development, preferably in Python or Java
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL (No-SQL experience is advantageous)
  • 5+ years of experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Azure, especially Azure data analytics tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Managed SQL, Azure Databricks, and Azure Blob storage
  • Experience in developing analytics-driven solutions using Microsoft PowerBI

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar workflow management systems
  • Experience with the Informatica platform
  • Exposure to Yandex Clickhouse or other column-oriented databases
  • Experience in leading and building teams
