As an Assistant Program Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful execution of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints while maintaining high-quality standards. You will also assist in the implementation of key Agile Management Processes and governance to guarantee seamless project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the initiation of programs
  • Assist in project scheduling to ensure alignment with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and detailed program timelines
  • Engage in program reviews to finalize and implement the Program Management Plan
  • Coordinate with internal teams to prioritize projects, establish deadlines, and conduct risk evaluations
  • Act as a key liaison with customers
  • Manage opportunities for improvement and oversee change management processes
  • Participate in reviews to ensure product deliverables align with Design for Quality (DFQ) standards
  • Anticipate delays and relay pertinent information to management
  • Support resource planning efforts
  • Assist with audits and other quality initiatives at Alstom
  • Oversee the triaging of Nonconformance reports
  • Facilitate coordination between product and application teams
  • Provide documentation support for release packages
  • Prepare presentations for program reviews, contractual obligations, budget allocations, and internal reporting
  • Monitor progress and guide program execution for Core Team members
  • Identify and initiate actions to enhance team performance
  • Support the application of team effectiveness tools by the Program Manager
  • Assist in the distribution of work packages among team members
  • Delegate specific tasks to optimize project outcomes
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. An additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Project Management or a related field, particularly in Data Analytics; Agile experience is advantageous.
  • Experience within the transportation sector, particularly in train control, is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
