Job Title: Community and Social Services Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community and Social Services Worker to join our team at The Governing Council of The Salvation Army. As a key member of our community services team, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to individuals and families in need.

Job Summary:

The Community and Social Services Worker will be responsible for providing a range of services to clients, including crisis intervention, case management, and community outreach. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires strong interpersonal skills, a high level of emotional intelligence, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in need
  • Conduct assessments and develop case plans to address client needs
  • Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support for clients
  • Develop and implement community outreach programs to promote social services and support
  • Provide education and training to clients on topics such as mental health, addiction, and life skills
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to track client progress and program effectiveness
Requirements:
  • College diploma or degree in a related field (e.g. social work, psychology, community development)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a community services or social work role
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
