Job Summary

Trinity Western University invites applications for an endowed Chair in New Testament Studies. The successful candidate will be an exemplary teacher, accomplished scholar, and sincere evangelical Christian, committed to advancing the mission, vision, and core values of Trinity Western University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in New Testament Studies, demonstrating intellectual rigour and spiritual maturity.
  • Conduct research in New Testament Studies, making meaningful contributions to the wider academic community through publications, presentations, and active participation in scholarly organizations and societies.
  • Support the Chair of the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies in reimagining curriculum and programs to align with the university's strategic priorities.
  • Champion positive and effective departmental communications with students, faculty, administration, and staff.
  • Work closely with the Provost, Office of the President, and University Advancement to increase external confidence in Trinity Western University.
Qualifications
  • Exemplary commitment to Christ-centred higher education.
  • Five+ years of experience in Christian higher education.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Values and fosters collaboration.
  • Commitment to the authority and significance of Holy Scripture for contemporary life, discipleship, and witness.
  • Capable of displaying intellectual rigour, spiritual maturity, and confidence in the Bible as a coherent whole and the role of the Church in its interpretation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues.
