Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional to join our team as a Practical Nursing Instructor. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, evaluating student performance, and contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
  • Support the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience
  • Act in a manner that upholds the College standards
  • Participate in College and Program Activities
  • Monitor and review students during practicum and/or clinical placements, as program requires

Requirements:

  • Current license with BCCNM
  • Three or more recent, full-time years' experience in the field with acute care experience
  • Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College in a relevant discipline
  • Credential in adult education or willingness to pursue the PID at an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Satisfy specific position qualifications as prescribed in program design and program approval for the instruction of the courses
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation
  • Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of students, to provide feedback and treat students equitably

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of teaching experience could be considered an asset
  • Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches is an asset
