Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction that meets module and program objectives, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education in practical nursing.
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Support the administrative functions of the campus, enhancing the student experience and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Act in a manner that upholds the College's standards, embodying the values of excellence, innovation, and student success.
  • Participate in College and program activities, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and review students during practicum and/or clinical placements, ensuring they meet program requirements and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Current license with BCCNM.
  • Three or more recent, full-time years' experience in the field with acute care experience.
  • Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College in a relevant discipline.
  • Credential in adult education or willingness to pursue the PID at an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Satisfy specific position qualifications as prescribed in program design and program approval for the instruction of the courses.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation.
  • Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of students, providing feedback and treating students equitably.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of teaching experience could be considered an asset.
  • Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches is an asset.
