Role Overview

As a Creative Design Lead at Mediabistro, you will be a forward-thinking designer with a strong understanding of branding. Your role will involve producing outstanding work that exceeds expectations. You will be actively engaged in creating innovative designs while also guiding a team of designers. Your ability to assess project scope and manage timelines will be essential, all while embodying our core values and processes. We seek a Creative Design Lead who is both strategic and detail-oriented. A background in user experience design, a keen sense of color, and a passion for typography are essential. You will report directly to the Executive Creative Director, collaborating with the team to develop original design solutions. Your leadership will inspire the team to produce intelligent, original, and engaging designs that address client challenges in novel ways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support junior designers, monitoring their work and progress
  • Conduct internal design reviews to ensure alignment with client objectives
  • Oversee the design and production of logos and design systems across digital and traditional platforms
  • Create original artwork, including illustrations and infographics, while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Review all materials for consistency with layout guidelines and branding elements
  • Guide solutions to effectively communicate messages through color, typography, imagery, and format
  • Maintain awareness of budget constraints and communicate with client service leads as necessary
  • Defend the strengths of existing concepts while remaining open to feedback and exploration
  • Analyze data from clinical studies and presentations to identify graphic opportunities
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure proper implementation in web environments
  • Ensure design aesthetics align with usability, accessibility, and web standards
  • Oversee the creation of presentations, clearly articulating visual concepts to stakeholders
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, Figma, and Sketch; familiarity with other design software is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Established presentation capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Aptitude for building client relationships
  • Enthusiasm for integrating AI into design processes
Experience:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a creative agency
  • Proven experience leading a design team
  • A portfolio showcasing completed design projects is preferred
