Position Overview:

Lyft is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Accounting Manager to become a vital part of our Controllership team. This position involves overseeing daily accounting operations and engaging in project-based efforts aimed at optimizing our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will utilize their existing expertise while rapidly adapting to contribute effectively in a dynamic, publicly traded company environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the revenue cycle, ensuring effective handling of collections, deferred revenues, and adherence to revenue recognition standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including EDC and joint ventures, overseeing related quarterly entries and processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Plan and execute accounting tasks in alignment with the monthly closing schedule.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other departments to gather information and provide insights on accounting matters, including streamlining transactions for new business initiatives.
  • Support the reporting process by collecting financial data for SEC disclosures and assisting with external audits.
  • Develop and implement scalable accounting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Actively engage in system implementations and integration projects.
  • Prepare government reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting as necessary.
  • Undertake special projects and ad-hoc tasks within the Accounting/Finance domain.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • 5-6 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to Big 4 firms and manufacturing sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and principles of Revenue Recognition.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in accounting research, problem-solving, and multitasking.
  • Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French; effective communication in English is essential for collaboration with English-speaking colleagues.
