Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Advisor to support our Human Resources division in a temporary full-time role. This position is designed to cover a maternity leave and will involve collaboration with a team of Human Resources Advisors and Assistants under the guidance of the Employment and HR Advisory Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic partner to departmental managers and staff on various HR matters, including recruitment, employee relations, and collective agreement interpretation.
- Provide expert advice on attendance management, classifications, and the employee life cycle.
- Collaborate closely with the Health and Safety, Labour Relations, and Organizational Development teams.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in a unionized environment.
- An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Human Resource Management.
- A CPHR designation and experience in labour relations will be considered advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel, along with familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR information systems.
Work Environment: This role requires adaptability in a fast-paced setting with tight deadlines. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong political acumen and attention to detail, thriving in a progressive work environment.
