Position Overview

The Endoscope Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of Olympus products through adherence to established protocols. Under the supervision of the Manager, the technician will assess, troubleshoot, disassemble, reassemble, repair, and inspect endoscopes to meet Olympus's product standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and evaluations of customer products for repairs, focusing on minor and major repairs of various endoscope models.
  • Acquire advanced repair techniques for specific endoscope models, excluding Ultrasound and Small Fiber Diameter endoscopes.
  • Utilize a range of hand tools and testing equipment to perform repairs and facilitate the disassembly and reassembly of products.
  • Maintain accurate service records electronically and manually, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Adhere to safety practices as per Olympus guidelines.
  • Keep a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  • Participate in mixing adhesives, data recording, and maintaining shared areas.
  • Follow established procedures for routine tasks according to Olympus repair manuals.
  • Rotate through various sections of the repair department to gain comprehensive knowledge of products and repair techniques.
  • Apply acquired skills to meet or exceed repair and quality standards.
  • Engage in quality systems and improvement programs as directed by management.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in endoscope technical repairs, preferably within the medical or healthcare sector.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in inspection and estimation of endoscope repairs.
  • Must maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality standards and be available for overtime as needed.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in disassembly, assembly, repair, and quality inspection in precision repair activities.
  • Manual dexterity with small hand tools and experience with testing equipment.
  • Ability to complete required technical training and demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills.

Health Considerations:

Employees may be at risk for exposure to blood or bodily fluids. Vaccination for Hepatitis B is recommended for those in such roles.
