Job Summary

Olympus is seeking a highly skilled Endoscope Repair Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our repair department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of our medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough inspections and estimations of customer products received for repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Disassemble, assemble, repair, and inspect endoscopes to meet company product standards.
  • Use a variety of small hand tools and test equipment to make repairs and facilitate disassembly and reassembly of the product.
  • Complete and maintain accurate service records electronically and manually.
  • Ensure safe work practices are employed by observing guidelines established and enforced by Olympus.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment.
  • May be involved in mixing of glue, data recording, and cleaning of common areas.
  • Follow established procedures on routine work according to Olympus on-line repair manuals.
  • May be required to rotate through different parts of the repair department to ensure proper understanding of the products and the different repairs and inspection techniques.
  • Apply acquired skills related to the repair and service of endoscopes, products meeting or exceeding repair and quality standard times.
  • Actively participate and train in the quality systems, quality improvement, and "5S" programs as directed by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in endoscope technical repairs required, preferably in the medical or healthcare industry.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in inspection and estimation of endoscope repairs.
  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Expected to maintain acceptable standards for attendance and punctuality, and as a condition of employment, work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrate skills in disassembly, assembly, repair, quality inspection or equivalent in precision repair activity while meeting productivity and quality key performance indicators required.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with small hand tools (such as screwdrivers, electric screwdrivers, pliers, or tweezers) and experience with test equipment (such as light sources, video processors, mega ohm testers) and hand soldering to make repairs and facilitate disassembly and reassembly required.
  • Ability to complete required technical training and demonstrate knowledge and skills.
