Early Childhood Educator, Casual On Call

Job Summary:

The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to provide high-quality care and programming to children in our childcare centers. As a Casual On-Call Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children, building meaningful relationships with families, and delivering programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality care and creative programming to children
  • Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
  • Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
  • Deliver high-quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
  • Provide active supervision at all times and work as a team to support transitions between play areas
  • Use our parent communication app to provide daily communication and updates
  • Keep a clean and safe environment – in all program areas and common spaces
  • Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standards

Qualifications:

  • Basic ECEA/ECE certification from a program recognized in British Columbia
  • Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) License is an asset
  • Special Needs Educator (SNE) is an asset
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Any training related to child growth and development is an asset
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained within 30 days after start date)
  • 3 professional reference checks to be completed
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
