Job Title: Lead Coordinator, Event Management

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Coordinator to join our team at the University of Ottawa. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and promoting events that engage alumni, raise awareness in the community, and foster ties between strategic partners and the academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design events that meet the needs of our faculty and service, including on- and off-campus events.
  • Manage all logistics surrounding events, including reservations, rentals, registration, and invitations.
  • Supervise the running of events and resolve any problems that may arise.
  • Manage budgets related to event organization and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Participate in marketing plans to maximize stakeholder awareness and participation.

Requirements:

  • College diploma in marketing, event management, fundraising, or communications, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to formulate creative ideas and analyze details to create successful events.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-reliance and good judgment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in supervising teams and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of budget management policies and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written).
