We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Das Schnitzelhaus. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Food Cost Management: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
- Operational Analysis: Analyze operating costs and other data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency.
- Culinary Leadership: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff, and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Menu Planning: Plan menus and ensure that food meets quality standards, taking into account seasonal availability and customer preferences.
- Staff Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and recruit and hire new staff as needed.
- Equipment Management: Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to ensure that the kitchen is well-equipped and functioning efficiently.
- Work Term and Hours: Work a permanent schedule of 32 to 44 hours per week, with the opportunity to work additional hours during peak periods.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience.
- Language: Fluency in English is required.
