Position Overview

The Finance Officer plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.

Qualifications
  • Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role
Work Environment

This role is primarily focused on on-site customer service, requiring the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare payroll cheques
  • Assess fixed assets and manage depreciation
  • Maintain and balance various accounts through manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Prepare and maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries and prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports
  • Complete tax returns and prepare trial balances
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and database management
  • Experience with QuickBooks, TaxPrep, MS Office, and Sage Accounting Software
Equipment Proficiency

Familiarity with office equipment such as scanners is essential.
