Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Liability Claims Adjuster to join our team in Canada. As a Liability Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of claims, including auto and general liability, and working closely with our clients to provide exceptional service and support.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and investigate claims to determine coverage and claim disposition
- Establish and review reserves for indemnity and expense, and make recommendations for reserves as needed
- Identify and communicate claim trends and account or policy issues to management and underwriting
- Proactively manage the case-resolution process and participate in market meetings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Support claims marketing services by meeting with brokers, risk managers, and reinsurers
- Prepare for and facilitate claim reviews with clients
- Provide oversight to claims being managed by independent adjusters to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Bachelor's degree and/or advanced degree/diploma (experience may be substituted for education)
- At least 2-3 years of related claims experience, including auto and general liability
- Candidates with a completed CIP designation or those who are actively pursuing the CIP will be given preference
- Knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, and techniques, including coverage issues and product line knowledge
- Demonstrated superior verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate level of analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills
- Approximate travel required 20% within Ontario
