Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Operate and Drive Straight or Articulated Trucks: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Oversee Vehicle Condition and Inspect Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform Pre-Trip, En Route, and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical issues and ensure the vehicle is running efficiently.
  • Receive and Relay Information to Central Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, including cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Record Cargo Information, Hours of Service, Distance Traveled, and Fuel Consumption: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and Ensuring Safety and Security of Cargo: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by properly tarping and securing it during transport.
Requirements
  • AZ Class License: Possess a valid AZ class license.
  • Class 1/1F/A License (Semi Trailer Trucks): Possess a valid Class 1/1F/A license for semi-trailer trucks.
  • Documentation Knowledge: Possess knowledge of documentation, including bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.
  • Type of Trucking and Equipment: Possess experience with tractor-trailers.
  • Security and Safety: Possess a valid criminal record check and have passed a drug test.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Possess the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular overtime required.
  • Weight Handling: Possess the ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Possess steel-toed safety boots.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess flexibility, organization, reliability, teamwork, hard work, patience, and experience as an asset.
