Occupational Therapist

As a key member of the Mental Health & Addictions Program at Nova Scotia Health Authority, the Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in the planning, development, provision, and evaluation of mental health and addiction services.
The successful candidate will demonstrate sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Mental Health & Addictions Program and the organization's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Directions.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Graduate of an accredited University Program in Occupational Therapy
- Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association
- Eligibility for registration to practice Occupational Therapy in Nova Scotia
- At least one year of experience as an Occupational Therapist, with recent experience in an inpatient/outpatient Mental Health & Addiction setting
- Experience in developing collaborative partnerships and initiatives with other agencies and community stakeholders
- Ability to provide effective Addiction & Mental Health/Occupational Therapy assessment
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing continuing education to maintain or enhance professional knowledge
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other healthcare providers, and staff, demonstrating sensitivity, empathy, and warmth
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative

Hours- Permanent Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $42.89 per hour.
Additionally, the candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
