Position Overview: We are seeking a Finance Allocation Manager dedicated to overseeing the management, execution, and implementation of operational enhancement initiatives for Aviva Canada's standard finance mass allocations and tailored allocations within Oracle Fusion and PCMCS.

This role is crucial in ensuring that the mass allocation assignments supporting Aviva's management reporting, as well as financial and actuarial reporting, are executed flawlessly during month-end processes. Additionally, this position will collaborate with the Finance Operation – Process Improvement team to implement initiatives aimed at streamlining finance accounting and operational workflows. Key areas of focus will include the automation of allocation jobs, ensuring the presence of essential controls, and assisting in the redesign of processes related to management reporting, results packages, and finance dashboard reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of allocation routines at month-end.
  • Conduct monthly control checks to mitigate financial discrepancies.
  • Manage all allocation documentation, including checklists, control reports, and journal extraction files.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance System Manager during month-end to ensure timely processing of PCMCS journals.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager and PCMCS Consultant in completing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for finance projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration/Commerce.
  • Accounting designation or progress towards completion (CMA, CGA, CPA, CA).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, preferably within the banking or insurance sectors, with direct involvement in managing fixed assets and expense allocation processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced skills in EBR (Oracle or SAP) and Essbase are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (CGAAP and IFRS).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively under time constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills.
