Job Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the Global Water Futures (GWF) and Global Water Futures Observatories (GWFO) Programs, as well as the Ecohydrology Research Group. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the research team, coordinate outreach activities, and assist with science research procurement and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the research team, including coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
  • Coordinate outreach activities, including planning and executing workshops, seminars, and other events.
  • Assist with science research procurement and technical support, including communicating with external partners and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of research proposals and reports.
  • Provide support for regular reporting requirements, including metrics related to stakeholder and partner engagement.
  • Assist with the administration and financial management of project accounts.
  • Participate in the hiring of new co-op students and assist with staff and student pay.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Sciences or related discipline; graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience as a project coordinator in an academic setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide and present timely and relevant feedback/reporting to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Business maturity and awareness with topics and matters that are confidential and sensitive.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient at MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, web content management, Adobe software, Outlook calendar and email management.
