Job Title: Sous-chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous-chef to join our team at St. John's Fish Exchange Kitchen & Wet Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory.
  • Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen operations.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, specialist chefs, and other kitchen workers.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menus, specials, and events.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
Language:

English is the primary language of communication in the kitchen.
