About the Role:

The Overnight Awake position at Kerry's Place Autism Services is a critical role that requires a dedicated and compassionate individual to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our supported individuals during the overnight hours.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support and care to our individuals, responding to their needs and ensuring their health and safety. This includes monitoring their overnight status, providing counseling and care-giving as needed, and making a record of any notable occurrences.

You will also be responsible for adhering to established directives and policies concerning the health, safety, and well-being of our individuals, as well as supervising and counseling them as needed. Additionally, you will be involved in staff meetings and relevant staff training/development sessions.

We are seeking an individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be required to have a valid Driver's License and be able to provide a Driver's Abstract in good standing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and care to our supported individuals during the overnight hours
  • Monitor their overnight status and provide counseling and care-giving as needed
  • Make a record of any notable occurrences
  • Adhere to established directives and policies concerning the health, safety, and well-being of our individuals
  • Supervise and counsel our individuals as needed
  • Be involved in staff meetings and relevant staff training/development sessions

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Human Services Diploma from a recognized Community College or University or completion of Ontario Secondary School (or equivalent) and one year of related experience
  • Solid communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and sound judgment
  • Ability to physically support children, youth, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Ability to complete the NVCI certification and perform required physical techniques
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to provide a Driver's Abstract in good standing
