Job Title: Registered Nurse - Day Surgery

North York General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Day Surgery team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and transitions
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Physical assessment course completed within the last 5 years
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • IV Certification
  • 2 years' recent surgery/ambulatory surgical care experience
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' current experience in adult and pediatric/infant day surgery and Endoscopy
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' experience in Ambulatory care
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
