Medical-Surgical Nurse

At Michael Garron Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Nursing Resource Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to ensure effective patient care and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain a wide range of nursing skills related to general medical-surgical nursing.
- Participate in cross-training to specialty areas as required.
- Work effectively in a team environment to ensure seamless patient care.
- Registered Practical Nursing diploma with a current certificate of registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Medication Administration certificate (for RPN).
- Maintains competence relative to current practice.
- Recent experience and evidence of recent related continuing education in medical-surgical nursing an asset.
- Current BLS required.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in the implementation of high-quality clinical care utilizing the nursing process.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues utilizing well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and problem-solving abilities to ensure effective, efficient, and appropriate decision making when planning and implementing healthcare.
- Commitment to maintaining professional development of self and others with a patient safety focus.
