About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Philanthropy to join our senior management team at YWCA Toronto. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving our philanthropic efforts and supporting the development and implementation of our strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve our annual and long-term goals;
  • Lead and manage a team of fundraising professionals to achieve target goals and objectives;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners to secure major gifts and sponsorships;
  • Develop and implement a donor recognition and stewardship plan to increase donor loyalty and giving;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Advocacy and Communications to develop and implement public relations and marketing strategies to support our programs and services;
  • Participate in advocacy initiatives to improve services for women and children;
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in fundraising, philanthropy, and non-profit management to ensure our organization remains competitive and effective.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Philanthropy, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Over 10 years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy, and non-profit management;
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and sponsorships;
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and developing a team;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners;
  • Knowledge of fundraising databases and software, with experience in using them to track and manage donor relationships;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Fluency in a second language is an asset.
