About the Role

The Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is in search of a dedicated pediatric specialist to enhance our existing pediatric services alongside two other experienced pediatricians. The practice is fully equipped and ready for immediate engagement. There is also the possibility of sharing responsibilities between two part-time positions (0.5 FTE each). The selected physician will deliver both inpatient and outpatient care, with potential outreach clinics in surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care to patients within the Western Zone.
  • Participate in on-call shifts as required.
  • Collaborate with Nova Scotia Health to enhance pediatric care delivery.
  • Offer consultation support to the Western Zone, including daytime and occasional overnight or weekend coverage.
  • Be accountable for the patient population in the Western Zone through regular clinics and satellite clinics.
  • Report to the Zone Pediatrics Department Head regarding professional responsibilities and quality of care.
  • Adhere to the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health.
Work Schedule
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • On-call schedule as needed
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Certification eligibility with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
