About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an Emergency Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients and provide timely and effective treatment
  • Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures as needed
  • Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consult and refer to other medical practitioners as necessary
  • Act as a patient advocate and provide emotional support to patients and families
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as required
Requirements
  • College of Family Physicians of Canada Emergency Medicine certification or equivalent
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
  • Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Critical Care Emergency Ultrasound (CCrISP), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Experience in emergency medicine or a related field
